How To Take A Screenshot On iPhone 11 & Where To Find The Images

Apple has made taking screenshots a lot easier on iPhone 11, although those transitioning from older models might find the process quite different.

Applebrought back the handy screenshot function to the latest iPhone 11 models. However, those accustomed to doing it on older generation phones might find the process a bit different from what they're used to. There's some significant distinctions between each iPhone 11 variant that sets them apart from each other.

While the iPhone 11 models do differ from each other in small ways, the same can't be said when it comes to taking screenshots, as all iPhone 11 models share the same process. Previous models required pressing the middle home button and the power button on the top right corner at the same time. However, that changed starting with the iPhone 6, when the power button was relocated to the side, although its middle home button still meant the requiring of two hands for activation. Due to the obvious omission of the physical home button in recent models, like in the iPhone 11, the process of capturing screenshots, including activating Siri, have once again been altered, albeit slightly.

Adjusting to the new screenshot combination might be an unnecessary inconvenience to some, but at least triggering it can be done with just one hand. Apple's support reveals that the iPhone 11's screenshot feature lets users immediately view and edit the taken images just as easily. Alternatively, users can even activate it with a single touch of a digital button if preferred, by remapping the iPhone 11's Assistive Touch button feature to the screenshot function.

Unlike ejecting the iPhone 11's SIM card, taking screenshots doesn't require additional tools, users only need to press both the volume up button, and the power button on the phone's right side, at the same time. Doing so leaves a miniature image thumbnail on the lower-left of the smartphone's screen, which disappears after a short period of time, or if the user swipes it to the left. Tapping on this image, however, leads to the screenshot gallery, where the taken image can be viewed and edited using the creative Markup tool.

Users can also navigate to the screenshot folder manually, simply by going to "Albums" then selecting "Screenshots." To edit the taken screenshot from the gallery, users should tap Edit on their chosen screenshot, tap on the triple period icon, then select the pencil icon which leads to the Markup tools. Afterwards, they can add stickers, thought balloons, texts, filters and additional color effects using the "+" icon. Being able to take screenshots and edit them on the fly is quite fun and easy to do on the iPhone 11. Although preventing Apple from tracking the phone's location is another story.
